The Weeknd performs at MTV VMAs

The pop star, real name Abel Tesfaye, is the first Canadian to headline solo at the event. The game is scheduled to kick off around 6.30pm ET (1am GMT) so the halftime show should take place around 90 minutes after that.

However, music fans might want to tune in earlier to watch country star Eric Church and R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan perform the National Anthem. R&B artist HER will also sing “America the Beautiful”.

The Super Bowl will be aired by CBS and livestreamed on the CBS All Access app.
