Liverpool vs Red Bull Salzburg confirmed line-ups: Team news and more ahead of Champions League meeting

Salzburg visit Liverpool in the second week of Champions League action, and the dangerous Austrians could be without star striker Erling Haaland.

The young Norwegian has been struggling with illness in the lead up to the game, but will be keen to figure having began his European season in such style with a hat-trick in his side’s 6-2 victory over Genk.

Liverpool have selection concerns of their own – Joel Matip is out after picking up a knock at the weekend, while Xherdan Shaqiri is also absent.

Alisson is also not fully fit, but the Brazilian goalkeeper is expected to be available for selection soon after returning to training.

Here is everything you need to know about the game:

Confirmed line-ups

Liverpool: Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Mane, Salah, Firmino

RB Salzburg: Stankovic, Kristensen, Onguene, Wober, Ulmer, Mepu, Junuzovic, Minamino, Szoboszlai, Daka, Hwang

When is it?

Kick-off is at 8pm.

How can I watch it?

The match will be broadcast live on BT Sport 3 and BT Sport Ultimate, and can be streamed online via the BT app.

Odds

Liverpool win: 1/3

Draw: 9/2

RB Salzburg: 8/1

Prediction

Liverpool will be desperate to get their defence of the Champions League properly up and running, and Jurgen Klopp’s side have such confidence at the moment that you could easily see them putting three or four past this Salzburg team.

The Austrians are dangerous going forward, and might well score, but Liverpool should have too much for them. A 4-2 home win.
