Dame Joan Collins plays a dowdy actress living in a nursing home in The Time Of Their Lives
Joan Collins stars in the very funny The Time Of Their Lives
In her latest flick The Time Of Their Lives Dame Joan, 84, plays a dowdy actress living in a nursing home.
And it seems her make-under was so convincing that she managed to pass by the noses of a couple of fans completely undetected.
“We were shooting in a supermarket and I was looking among the lettuces. I heard someone say, ‘I hear Joan Collins is here,’ ” explains the age-defying Dame.
“And they looked right at me and said; ‘Where is she?’ And then they said ‘I don’t know. I think she was over by the chocolates but she’s not there anymore,’ ” laughs Joan, who thankfully saw the funny side.
Well, considering the circumstances, being unrecognisable really is a huge compliment.
The Time Of Their Lives, which also stars Pauline Collins, is now available to download.
Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have the odd on-screen tiff
Eamonn Holmes reveals eventful first date with Ruth Langsford
“Sometimes people say we argue on the telly but we don’t really,” says Ruth, 57, who celebrated seven years of marriage to Eamonn, also 57, a week ago.
“We’re not going to have a full scale row on TV. I find it strange people mention that, because disagreeing is what couples do. You don’t have to agree with all of the other person’s views. That’s boring.”
And while they might not always see eye-to-eye the pair – who have been together 22 years and have a son Jack, 15, – have at least got the basics right.
She adds: “Our core values are very similar and that’s what keeps us together.”
Their new show Eamonn & Ruth Do Dubai airs tonight on Channel 5 at 9pm.
