Former ‘Fair City’ star Alan O’Neill has reportedly died in Los Angeles at the age of 47, the second death of a former actor in the RTÉ soap opera this week.
Mr O’Neill, who also starred in critically acclaimed US series ‘Sons of Anarchy’, was discovered by his girlfriend. No foul play is suspected and a post-mortem examination will be carried out. Mr O’Neill played Keith McGrath in ‘Fair City’ and starred in 70 episodes of the Carrigstown soap opera from 2006 to 2012.
The tragic news came barely 24 hours after the death was announced of another former ‘Fair City’ actor. Father-of-two Stephen Swift died at the age of 44 on Wednesday. Friends including comedian David O’Doherty paid tribute to Mr Swift. He had roles in TV hits such as ‘Games of Thrones’ and ‘The Tudors’.
