Camilla Thurlow has revealed she’s relieved her romance with ex Prince Harry never went further as she’s confident she’s found love with Jamie Jewitt.

The 28-year-old former beauty queen emerged as an early fan favourite on ITV’s Love Island and on Monday night, she and Jamie were named runners up to the £50,000 prize.

Camilla dated Harry for several months in 2014, after his split with Cressida Bonas. The pair were pictured holidaying together on a yacht in St Tropez and he was said to be “smitten” with her at the time.

And the sports science graduate said she was aware of the impact her famous ex could have had on her future love life – despite not naming Harry.

“I didn’t want my past relationships in the spotlight to upset having a future with someone. I am very happy with Jamie right now,” she said.

“It is nice that something that has happened in the past is in the past. I’ve had an opportunity to show people the person I am.”

Her new beau Jamie didn’t seem fazed by her royal ex, saying: “As much as Prince Harry is an impressive human being, I am not going to be intimidated by him.”

“I wasn’t at all shocked to hear she dated Prince Harry, Camilla is a very classy lady. It is her past and everyone has a past.”

She added that she has “no regrets” about her time in the villa, including having sex on television.

“The thought did cross my mind that having sex on TV would upset my work opportunities in the real world,” she explained.

“But I wasn’t going to dwell on something that I couldn’t change and wouldn’t change. I wanted to do that for me at the right time – I didn’t think of what anyone else was doing.

I have to admit my grandma may have skipped that episode though.”
