Oscars 2020: When is the awards ceremony and how can I watch it in the UK?

The 92nd Academy Awards are being held on Sunday 9 February 2020 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Filmmakers, on-screen stars and behind-the-scenes masterminds will be gathering once again to celebrate the best talent cinema has to offer, walking the red carpet before they take their seats and find out who will win the most coveted prizes in film.

If you’re watching from home, there are plenty of ways you can keep up with all the action on TV and online.

The evening will be broadcast live on ABC in the US and on NOW TV and Sky in the UK.

Sky Cinema will air for the entire evening, beginning at 10pm in the UK with red carpet arrivals. The ceremony itself will start around 1am GMT.

If you do not subscribe to Sky, you can sign up with NOW TV for a free 7 day trial of their Sky Cinema pass.

For US viewers, the Oscars will be available to watch on ABC with red carpet coverage kicking off at 5pm PT/ 8pm ET.

The Independent’s culture team will be also live blogging the night on our website, where you will be able to get all the latest updates, news, pictures and video in one place.
