Kanye West shares snippet of new song ‘Believe What I Say’

Kanye West has shared a snippet of a new song, titled “Believe What I Say”, which samples Lauryn Hill’s classic 1998 hit “Doo Wop (That Thing)”.

West posted the 38-second clip of the track to his Twitter, along with a video of a boat on its way to an island.

He raps on the song: “You ask him to feel protected/ And still feel protected/ Just one time for the record.

“Just one time for the record/ Don’t agree with the message/ Don’t agree with the methods.”

The post comes as West was filmed partying in Haiti during a surprise visit, where he met with president Jovenel Moïse.

Last week, West caused controversy in Jamaica after he was pictured there without wearing a mask.

All visitors to Jamaica are required to quarantine for 14 days, and masks are mandatory, even in the workplace.

Jamaica’s prime minister Andrew Holness said a picture West posted on 18 September – of him in a recording studio with reggae icon Buju Banton – was being investigated.

West recently went on a tirade against the music industry and shared photos of his recording contracts, claiming he would not release more music until he was “done” with his contracts at Sony and Universal.
