Kanye West has said that he wants to develop a “Christian-monitored” version of the popular video sharing app TikTok.

On Twitter, the acclaimed rapper and supposed presidential hopeful wrote that a “vision” had struck him after watching his daughter on the social networking site.

“I was watching TikTok with my daughter and as a Christian father I was disturbed by a lot of the content but I completely loved the technology,” he wrote.

“We pray we can collaborate with TikTok to make a Christian-monitored version that feels safe for young children and the world. In Jesus’ name amen.”

West suggested that the service could be called “Jesus Tok”.

TikTok is currently at the centre of some controversy in the US, as Donald Trump tries to ban the platform over its alleged ties to the Chinese state.

The Trump administration has alleged that TikTok’s parent company, Bytedance, poses a national security threat.

TikTok recently created a website entitled “The Last Sunny Corner of the Internet”, wherein it defends itself against accusations of spying and data sharing made by the US government.

West, meanwhile, faces an uphill struggle to prove eligible to run in the 2020 presidential election.

In Wisconsin, the validity of signatures on the documents submitted by West have been called into question, with a legal battle ensuing over the musician’s right to run.

West’s lawyers have argued that the disputed signatures – from signatories such as “Mickey Mouse” and “Bernie Sanders” – must be proven to be fake, or else should be accepted to qualify West for the presidential ballot in the state.
