Dua Lipa, Dance-Pop Crusader – The New York Times

When Dua Lipa’s second album, “Future Nostalgia,” leaked last month, the singer was already facing a conundrum: Should she release the LP, or, like many other major pop stars, push it back to when fans worldwide would (hopefully) no longer be in quarantine? Putting it out during the pandemic presented a variety of challenges — the rollout would happen almost completely virtually, and most of her carefully made plans would have to be abandoned.

She ultimately decided to accelerate the album’s release, and wisely so — “Future Nostalgia” is an up-tempo, optimistic balm that is a stark contrast to, and maybe a relief from, the coronavirus-addled state of the world.
