Lady Gaga has announced a new release date for her previously delayed album Chromatica.

The singer made the announcement on Wednesday via social media.

Chromatica, her sixth album, will come out on 29 May.

“The journey continues. You can officially join me on #Chromatica on 29 May,” Gaga wrote.

A pre-sales link reveals an additional piece of album art in a similar aesthetic, with Gaga pressed against a gate and held up by a metallic version of the Chromatica logo (which also shows up next to the #Chromatica hashtag on Twitter).

The album was originally supposed to come out on 10 April, but Gaga announced in March that she had made the “incredibly tough” decision to delay the release due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic,” she wrote at the time.

“Instead I prefer that we spend time focusing on finding solutions. It’s important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to healthcare professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for meals get the assistance they need, and that we help those who will be financially impacted by this pandemic.”
