Adam Sandler debuts new song about life during coronavirus on The Tonight Show 1

Adam Sandler has unveiled a new song about life during the coronavirus pandemic while appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Appearing via video link, Sandler performs with an electric guitar. The song’s lyrics pay tribute to the work carried out by medical professionals.

“Doctors brought us into this world as babies / Doctors take good care of your grandma,” sings Sandler in the video. “Doctors always give you an old lollipop after hitting your knee with a hammer.”

He continues: “Doctors and nurses will save us from this mess that we give them the supplies that they need / And I hope they save us soon because I’m really, really sick of my family.”

Sandler also conversed with host Jimmy Fallon about their past experiences in the comedy industry, and reminisced about the late Robin Williams.

Before becoming one of the world’s most commercially successful film stars, Sandler started out as a musical comedian, and would regularly perform comic songs of his own devising.

The ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) have recognised Sandler songs such as “The Chanukah Song,” “The Thanksgiving Song,” “Lunchlady Land” and “Red Hooded Sweatshirt” as part of the so-called musical comedy canon.

The Billy Madison actor recently received critical acclaim for his role in the high-octane drama Uncut Gems, winning an Independent Spirit Award for his portrayal of gambling-addicted diamond dealer Howard Ratner.
